The hotel “THE NEIGHBOURHOOD OF THE MOON” is located in Pefkari close to the homonymous picturesque beach. Pefkari took its name after the pine forest located there. Pefkari beach is famous for its natural beauty, is one of the most popular on the island, known for its deep crystal clear waters, the stunning sunsets and the water sport center. Thassos is an important island for the scale of the Greek archipelago with a surface of 393 sq. km. and shores that reach 95 km in length. The capital of the island, Thassos, is located 18 nautical miles away from Kavala and 6 miles away from the Thracian coast.
The island is traversed by a mountain range with Ypsario as the highest peak with a height of 1204 m and gazes the horizon towards Mount Pangaio and the imposing mass of Mount Athos.

Thassos began to regain its former glory and has once again become the gorgeous paradise described by Konstantinos Melas and so many other Greek and foreign writers, poets and wanderers.
Access
You should first go to Kavala by car or by bus. The distance from Athens to the city of Kavala is 680 km. The KTEL (Greek bus operators) of Kavala (tel. 210 5129407) carry out 3 routes daily (07.30, 14.15 and 19.30) from Kifissos station and the duration of the journey is 10 hours.
From Kavala you will access Thassos by ferry boat, with daily routes from the ports of Kavala and Keramoti (30 km east of Kavala with routes every half hour).

From Megas Alexandros Airport, which is located 27 km away from Kavala and hardly 5 km away from Keramoti. At the international Airport of Kavala, there are daily flights to and from Athens (duration 50 minutes) as well as many flights to and from various European cities.
